And now for something different…

I’m also an artist! Here’s a sample of my art.

My artist statement and bit more about my journey are below. Enjoy.

Artist Statement

I paint to express parts of me that are non-verbal.

They get to take shape and inhabit space as beauty, form, color and roses.

I enjoy how they reflect me back to myself.

In addition to the healing arts, I’m also an intuitive artist. I love sharing the freedom I feel with creative expression. I hope to inspire others to create things that bring them fulfillment, too— whether it’s a painting, following a dream, a relationship, or dinner!

My journey with painting began at a women’s retreat in the mountains outside Asheville, North Carolina in 2016. I was eating lunch next to another woman participant, who asked me if she could show me a recent painting she finished. As I looked at her marvelous work of art, she mentioned she was doing workshops with Shiloh Sophia. I recognized the style of art and that name as the woman who did the artwork for the Mother Mary Oracle Deck. Although I am not Christian, this is a gorgeous and well written oracle deck and the images spoke straight to my heart and soul. The I found out that Shiloh’s teaching studio was not even 30 minutes from where I lived!

And that’s how it all began. I hadn’t painted since kindergarten, and there I was, doing a half-day “painting the muse” workshop with Shiloh. I stood in front of my canvas among the other women in the class, clueless. I didn’t know what to do next for a good part of the workshop. I went home partly disturbed and deeply intrigued.

So I bought some cheap art supplies and went to work, trying to figure out what was inside me that wanted to be expressed through shape, color, image, symbol, and beauty.

I did a few more workshops with Shiloh, but have basically been a DIY experimenter and maker ever since. I love how painting feels, I love to practice painting from various states, and I love looking at the images that are birthed out of my depths. They speak to me as parts of myself that need love and attention, and when they look back at me, I feel seen.

I hope these images inspire something in you, a movement, a feeling, a knowing… and if you’re interested in purchasing a print, send me an email.
